Yam's usually outperform but need more repair. They're a pleasure to work on. The only Honda I prefer is the 99 – 2005 cr250r. (2 stroke). If I was buying new I'd get a Yam for sure. The honda 4 stroke mx bikes have been splitting their valve seats and cost major $$$ to repair.

they are both really good brands i prefer yamaha over anything and two stroke too, i have found that my friends with hondas and other bikes brake down more than me and other other friends with yamahas. i also drive a little more aggressive than them
