My brother is getting a dirt bike. He is 5 foot 6 inches and weighs 160 pounds. We are looking at purchasing this dirt bike:

First off, I was wondering if 100cc is powerful for a dirt bike. We are planning on using it at our cabin in Montana. We will be taking it on back country dirt roads and up steep hills. Will this be adequate? How fast will a bike like this go? Does it suit my brothers size?

I'm 5'4'' and ride a 200cc (just started) i already want more power…

i'd highly suggest NOT getting that bike…. wait around for something bigger within your price range if you have to… you will NOT be happy with that bike for long…. a few days at most…

and depending on the steepness and height of these hills, he may not even make it half way up the first one… couldn't really lean over the handlebars because then the tire wouldn't dig enough becuase of the size of the bike… to compensate he'd have to center most of his weight over the rear tire and that's a disaster waiting to happen.

I really really want a dirt bike..Ive ridden them many times before but they still wont let me get one.My 14th birthday is coming up and they have put it into consideration. By the way what is a good bike for me i am about 5'6'-'7' i want a really nice starter bike

Hah, same thing I'm doing. Except not for my birthday. I'm only 13. Well, really all you have to do, tell your parents that your getting really interested in dirtbiking and you really really want one. That's really all I did. My mom said maybe. ( :

And at about your height, get a 100cc. I'd go with either Honda or Yamaha.

I guess the only thing to tell you is to go to a bike shop or go to the following sites…

I am 20 years old, 150lbs and 6 foot. I have never been on a dirt bike but I am in the market to buy one that will please my needs.

Between 125 and 250 2 strokes, afraid the 250 might be too much power for my novice skill, while the 125 i may grow out of very quickly

any inputs ?

Dirt bikes

NO dont get a 250 2 stroke you will kill yourself!

even a 125 2 stroke is 2 much power but if someone teaches ya youl be fine

Go for 125 or mabey a 100cc

You should learn on 4 stroke

take care

I'm trying to make my dirt bike faster any ideas.

Try a jet engine.
Our road is under construction and they moved our mailbox down to the next side road. I would like to ride my 100cc dirt bike or my 250cc dirt bike down to get the mail.
Dirt bikes

Well on a legal standpoint, you aren't allowed to ride any unlicenced motorcycle on any public road (or property whatsoever whether under construction or not) that is over 50cc.
If it is a private road / driveway then yes, but it doesn't sound like it is.

Lets just put it this way; you can probably get away with it if there aren't too many cops around or if you dont have any grumpy neighbors. If there is a cop that stops you, he will probably just tell you that you cant do that and to push the bike home or have your parents come get you.

What kind of bike is it? I'm guessing a CRF100 or XR100? what year is it? Check ebay!
I have a 100cc Yamaha Dirt Bike. What oils can I use for it?
its 2 stroke. and my step dad did suggest yamalube. but…where do you get that? Walmart? lol
Dirt bikes

If its 2 stroke, use Yamalube to mix with the gas. 4 Stroke I use castrol 20w 50.
I have some enduro experience and im about ready to get a bigger engine than my XR100R. any advice?
i am 5'4. i have plenty of experience. i was gonna get a crf 150 but they're too heavy. what about a TTR125LE?
i want a bigger engine than a 100cc
Dirt bikes

If your over 5,7 and strong enough then get a 250four stroke if you want to be competative, but if its just for going practice tracks or messing around in the hills or woods ,then get a 125 2stroke if your not tall enough though get a 85cc or maybe a crf 150r,pick a bike you think suits you and feel comftable on,good luck keep riding

50cc if she's petite or short statured and not very adventurous, 100cc if she's tall for her age and wild. Keep in mind that you can restrict a faster bike, or you can tune a slower bike to be faster. No matter what decision you make for her, so long as the bike fits her stature and frame, you can make the engine what she wants.
