I am buying a pocket rocket which I already posted a question about that. And I am buying either a 250cc quad or 250cc dirt bike with a clutch. Which one should I get?

I would go with a quad. You are less likely to bail on a quad then on a dirt bike. Depending on your experience. But it will hurt alot more when you do bail on a quad. I just think there funner and better looking. Im going to be purchasing a 2007 Yamaha Wolverine. Have fun with your choice!!
I have some enduro experience and im about ready to get a bigger engine than my XR100R. any advice?

Perhaps add a few more details about your height as that makes a difference as at 13 there is a great difference in how tall people are.

Just go along to a dealership and have a sit on a few different bikes to judge how big a bike you can manage. The crf150r is a really great bike and you would be able to race that for a couple more years. If you are really tall you could look at a 4 stroke 250cc.

Ive heard alot about dirt bikes regarding height and 2 stroke vs 4. I have never riden one and looking to start. I am 6 foot 2 but only 160lbs. Which bike is the best to buy, also 2 stroke or 4… I want a bike that i can learn on but be able to have enough power when i become advanced. I will be doing mostly trails. Thanks in adavnce.

4 stroke bikes these days have jsut as much power if not more than a 2 stroke, I suggest to get a 4 just because it'll be less matenance and great for a beginner. All the bike manufactures make good beginner bikes I like to lean more towards honda, and yamaha in the 4 stroke technology they are good. Anthing from 100-250cc 4 stroke will be a great beginner to intermediate bike or a 80-125 2 stroke. A 250 4 stroke can have to much power for a beginner especially if it's brand new, I have a new yamaha 250 and it's sick fast so I'd lean more towards a honda 150 4 stroke or something simular. I'm 6'3 and 185 so we're not much different in size and a 150 pulls me around pretty good.
I'm looking at buying a bike, for main use of riding on the road to cut down on gas. Someone I know suggested looking into dirt bikes. I can't afford a bigger bike yet, nor to I want to start out on a real big bike. But what engine size ect. would be best for using it more as a vehicle than Motocross type stuff.

Definitely agree. Try to find a good used 250cc dual sport (dual purpose). Check craigslist and bike trader. Kawasaki KLX250 or Suzuki DR-Z200 would be good choices. Fairly inexpensive used.

Dirt bikes are prette much outlawed on any road anywhere, some places and towns will give you the slip becuase its just a simple way of getting around the country side

to be legal it must be a model with blinkers/lights/speedo, for example

honda Crf 250 = 250cc standard dirtbike 4 strke , Honda Xr 250 = 250cc 4 strke dirtbike road worthy with light/blinkers etc

in the developing countries cars are swaped for quads but nothing like that in america, i know it sux i used to use mine to go to my friends places and around the roads till i got caught

cheers

I see that a lot of people have asked similar questions but I'm about 40 lbs heavier and 6" taller than any of the answers I found. I'm 6'7" tall and weigh around 250 lbs. I do have some experience on a dirt bike but outgrew it a long time ago. Any suggestions on what would be a good bike would be great.

A 250cc is all you need.
They are as tall as the 500cc
(also include if you can where was it held)

1924 in britain or south england.it was called a scramble velocetto was the bike it had a 250cc two stroke engine. 80 bikes started 40 finished.
I have never been on a dirt bike and am wondering what bike i should get. I want a cheap good quality bike. Will a 250cc be too big for me? What are Atomik prox 200cc or PitPro 250cc like are they real bikes or kids bikes, their price was so cheap i wasnt sure. Also i would prefer to get a kawasaki do they have any cheap dirt bikes? i also plan on getting a kawasaki ninja gpx250r later down the road, wanted to do a whole kawasaki thing. Will be grateful for any info you can provide.

Firstly, any dirt bike will probobly be too tall for you at 5'2" as they have lots of clearance, but then dirt bikes are light as buggery in the 125 to 450 cc range so if you can reach the ground, it should be allright. those pit bikes or pocket rocket bikes are for kids (i wouldn't let my kids on though). they are a toy and are useless for anything. you cant register them, they cant handle real rough stuff and they are shockingly built and engineered

secondly, gpx250r's are road bikes, and would be perfect for you. I am 6'4" and 130kg and it even handles me (but it looks like cruelty to small motorbikes)

Are they any good has any body ever bought something from this website ibought a 250cc dirt bike

The Chinese bikes like these are inferior, but the biggest issue seems to be parts availability. Most of these manufacturers tend to have scooter parts available, but not motorcycle parts. So eventually it will be a "throw away" motorcycle…sorry.
I have not ever ridden before, so I am looking for more of a beginner bike.
