I have a Chinese Dirt Bike named "terminator". This bike was manufactured in 2005. The key switch was broke when I bought the bike. It looks like it was ripped apart. The bike works when kickstarted. However when you try to use the electric starter, it does nothing. When you apply voltage directly to the electric starter (bypassing solenoid and all) it cranks the engine. I do not know if the switch has anything to do with this or not. I would think the bike's been modified to run without the key at all, but would like to know if anyone has any experience with these bikes electrical systems. I found a retailer online selling the key switch that has the same connector and color wires that my broke switch has (red, green, black, black/white) at this link: http://www.scooterpartsrus.com/4_stroke_electrical.htm
My item's description is "4 stroke ignition key switch #2".
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
G

Stop sniffling.
Kick start the bike like most dirt bike riders.
You really should not wear loafers while riding.

Actually, you found the part. Almost any ignition switch like this will work.
Being a Chinese bike, you should not have to worry about it getting stolen.

Wats the best dirt bike brand? Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki, or Honda?

I’ve had all four and there is no best brand. Some models are better than others. Because of air pollution laws, most new dirt bikes all have 4 stroke engines, these bikes are a little heavier than the older bikes with 2 stroke engines. The 2 strokes have great top end power but the throttle response at low engine speeds can be sluggish. This makes them more difficult to ride unless you have good skills. The 4 stroke engines would probably be easier for learning stunts even if they are heavier.
I have had my crf 150 r expert for about 7 months and within the first month I grew out of it and i cant convince my mom that it is to small can someone help me convince her.

Well a 150 4 stroke doesn't have a lot of power, a 250 4- stroke has a lot more than that 150 and you wouldn't ever really out grow a 250, i'm 6'3 and 185 pounds and I love my 250's and 450's and the newer 250 4 strokes have some balls. So upgrade to one of those and you'll be happy. Now how to convice mommy, sell your 150 as soon as possible while it's still worth something, dirt bikes don't hold value long and then get a 250, even if you have to get a lesser year you'll still be alright, things havn't changed that much they're still fast and great handling. I'd go with eithe ranother honda or a yamaha and even a suzuki, I like them all and have riden or test rode most of them, yamaha probably the fastest of them all for the same class of engine, honda and suzuki tied for me and kawasakis…pfft I've never liked them.
I want a good cheap reliable dirt bike for riding in the woods. has to be under1000. new or used
Dirt bikes

Well, being that your 5' 6". I'd go with a 4 stroke 250. A Honda CRF250X would be a good bike. Is basically MX bike with headlight. Very nice.
Its a 2007 yamaha ttr 125 le 4 stroke, don't care about the brand just need to know 10w-30, 10w-40 or what?? my manual is lost.

Lost Your Manual !!!????

Here's a Downloadable one,,,from Yamaha-Europe
(Same as USA,,'cept handle bars are on opposite side of the bike,,,LOL)

Motorcycles TTR125 2007 English TT-R125 / TT-R125E / TT-R125LW / TT-R125LWE

That should be a direct link,,,if it dont work ,go here and enter your bike's info

……………………………………………………………………………………….
Here's another Yamaha source,,,enter your bike's data–there's several Years TTR125 manuals.
The Large ones are Service Manuals.
The Small ones are Owners Manuals.

…………………………………………………………………………
Save the PDF file on your computer,,,
Its lots easier than Downloading it everytime ya wanna look.

From "The Book"

Oil type or grade:
Engine oil

(For USA and CDN)

Yamalube 4 (10W-30) or SAE 10W-30 type
SE motor oil

The Next owner will get to deal with the effects,,you wont have to.

Otherwise,,,You'd be WISE to use 20w-50 exclusively.

I went from a XT 225 to a gsx-f 1100 and I did fine, you just have to respect the power of the motorcycle and know your limitations. I'm 17 years old.
What would be a good dirt bike from me i am 5,4 and 145 pounds and 13. i enjoy speed but i really dont have much space to ride around only my yard and that like 1 1/2 acres and a beach and a forest next to my house. i like speed and i will sonetimes bring it to the track. also wut would be a good engine and bike size for me

Does your weight and height depend on how high you jump on a dirtbike?
Dirt bikes

2 stroke….has no valves or valve system of any kind. The piston usually has 1 or 2 rings, depending on the model. The spark plug fires on the piston on each and every stroke, plus you have to mix 2 cycle pre mix oil in the gas at a ratio of 20/1 to 50/1, or you will burn it up.

4 stroke…..has anywhere from 2-6 valves per cylinder. Most modern 4 stroke dirt bikes have 4 to 5 valves. 2 being intake valves and 2 being exhaust valves. they have 2 rings, like the 2 stroke, but also have an oil ring. The spark plug fires on every othe stroke, unlike the 2 stroke. Plus the 4 stroke has a timing chain, lifters…..etc….and you can run just gas in them with no oil mixture…..

the 2 strokes are a little more peppy, but the 4 stroke has more torque……

and to answer your other question, YES. if you weigh more, you have to carry more speed on the face and approach to the jump to clear it. Unlike lighter riders that just seem to float over things……

A yamaha wr250f, a ktm 200exc or a yamaha yz250f?

Jason gave you very good advice. He is a little mistaken concerning the wide ratio gearbox. It is designed FOR woods or enduro riding. Notice the headlight. It means that the gears cover a wider spectrum of speeds. His first gear is very tall or fast. A motocross bike is always at high rpm and maximum possible speed. He needs to slip his clutch to make that gear suitable for slow riding. First gear on the WR is low enough that you can leave the clutch out and still putt around. I feel that the WR250 would be OK for you. The YZ has the close ratio box, for the track. The 2007 KTM 200 is a 2-stroke. It is an XC, or XC-W for the wide ratio. The 200 EXC (US)was last seen in 2005 according to Cycleworld.(Also 2-stroke). These are good bikes, but expensive. The Yamahas are 4 strokes as you likely know. You can do a search on any model that you choose. You will get opinions from people who actually own these bikes as well as from magazines. You will learn things like recurring problems that certain models might have had. I know one for road bikes that is very helpful. It is bikez.com. Very cool site. It might cover dirt also. Anything that you choose will be fun. Something that will still satisfy you as your skills increase is the goal. Pros are still having fun on these 250 4 strokes. They can be modified to the hilt as well. Lots of money though. Good luck with your choice. Have fun.

Although there are advantages and disadvantages to both, it is a mute question if you plan to buy a new dirt bike,in the USA, because the 2 strokes have been legislated out of production by our EPA. In reality, you can find a nice used 125 or 250 two stroke , made in the last ten years very reasonably priced, and easy to rebuild if need be. A 2 stroke is light, and quick. However the newer 4 strokes are actually lighter than the latest 2 strokes. A current class leading 4 stroke, such as a YZ250 F, or CR250 F is a few pounds lighter than the last 2 strokes. However, the horsepower on the earlier 2 stroke MX bikes was higher than the earlier stock four strokes. The 4 stroke makes more torque, especially in the lower power range, and thus is easier to ride for the novice rider. Basically, the 450 class 4 strokes make currently 55 plus HP, equal or better than the two strokes. The newer bikes have a lot better suspention, are lighter, and the enduros have electric start. If you are a new rider, try a Honda CRF230, or a Yamaha TTR 230 for a reliable, fun to ride dirt bike . If you are a taller person, with more expierience, try the WR series Yamaha , or CRFX series Hondas. Again there are no new two strokes after this year, and actually only the 85 class was made for 08. If you are looking for a first bike to learn on, a used 2 stroke 125, or 4 stroke 250 either one will do the job. Hope this helps.
