Axiom and Wellgo both offer good affordable pedals with replaceable studs.A cromoly axle is best.
The best pedal is one that has an owner with a good pedal nut tool.
I always rebuild my pedals with good bearing grease when new.Filling the bearings with grease will help keep dirt and water out of them.My favorite bicycle grease is Bullshot.[red]
The best bearing grease I have ever used came in a caulking tube and is used by long haul truckers to lubricate their trailer connector contacts where the trailer meets the tractor[truck].[it was red]

Riding boots, you want to keep your feet looking good. I have seen feet crushed, gashed, burnt etc. Be safe first. They are making girls gear more girlie now. Great to see women ride.
Well i will have about $1,600 to spend on. im 16 height:5,9 213lb. begginer but not afraid of power. im looking for a dirt bike that i will not have to worry about fixing and can take abuse(jumping, wheelies, races) and is very reliableand will go 55mphsound to me like i would want a 4 stroke. i hear honda crf150s are good and you can find for $1,400. so plz tell me what is the best for me. thanks

Move to South Carolina I have 3 MX tracks with in a 50 mile stretch not to mention the land mass you can just go ride on and make your own track. And I have no idea why I am telling you this…. It's not like your gonna pack up and move just to ride bikes. I guess I just want the 2 points. good luck and ride safe
Preferabbly under $1000. Looking for something suitable for an adult.. about 150-200 lbs. What is a good motor size? Not looking for the best, but dont want the crappiest bike either. Something tight to take into the woods.

I ride a 175 for about 3 years when i was in high school. Beat the hell out that old bike. I pay $200 for it and got my $$$$ out of it.
I ave changed the carb and replaced the air filter…
it wont start when the choke is off so i turn it on and it starts and after a while when the engine heats up i turn it off and it cuts out…..
i have to keep the choke on all hte time and it goes but very slowly!!

Hi,

Strip the carb bowl off, remove the float assembly

where centre bolt attached bowl, inside that tube is the jet and emulsion tube

Carefully unscrew this jet and clean with compressed air or if your lucky your breath ??

Muck in the carb…. but they are not the best quality

I have bought several none runners off ebay and everyone its been a quick fix …. dirty carb

Try and put a small inline filter within the line …. I modified them with a longer hose to adapt them and had no problem

If the carbs mullered….. you can buy them off ebay for £11 + delivery

Oh….. have you checked the reed valve after the carb… ? sometimes these break or dont seal correctly ??

This might be the fault you have…. due to choke ??

I just want to ride around go to the trails and jump go to a dirt ranch at my uncles and jump with it but i will mostly be in street, rocks, dirt, and grass so i really want to get the harox24 bike but i notice that people say its for be people so tell me

While 20" is responsive, 24" wheels roll much better on rough terrain. The rule is the larger the wheel the easier it is to ride over rough stuff especially.
I'm looking into buying a new 450 and I wanted some opinions on which would be the best in general, or for me specifically.
I ride a lot at the track, but a lot of my riding is also done in the mountains, in the woods, and on trails. Right now im leaning more towards the Honda, but its up in the air.

Thanks.

I like, in order:

KTM has the best suspension, lightest weight, most options and the most power. It is the most expensive and parts can be hard to get. The suspension is great but fussy to adjust.

The Yamaha is great for both racing and trail riding. YZF is better for racing and the WR for trails.

The Suzuki and Kawasaki are about the same and are good for both and they have very tough motors.

The Honda has great suspension and is easy to ride fast but the motors wont last the longest.

BTW, Cycle News sucks and I wouldn't put much trust in what they say. They mostly do street bikes anyway.

Never owned a bike. 5'11'' 185 lbs. Looking to buy a used dirt bike, what do y'all think I should go with?
I am 23 yrs old

If your first qualification is used, that will depend on the bikes available for sale in your area. Couple of general points, though. At 5-11 you will need a bike with a full size frame. Tiny won't cut it, 125-250cc, but check it first, even at those displacements have seen 3/4 size frames .(kind for kids). Have you ever ridden before? If no, lightest bike you can find, you'll be picking it up a lot. Can't even tell you the number of times I've fallen! Check where you will be riding. Some sites have specific equipment rules. Don't spend everything you have, you will need some equipment. Minimum: Helmet, Gloves, Boots. Ever caught a lace in the foot peg in 5th gear so you could not shift? (not a lot of fun) Worry about weight, not displacement. You always have one piece of equipment that will keep you from getting in trouble by going too fast. (Hint, it's the place between your ears.) On Bike condition: does chain shift a lot side to side? Do tires show "age cracks"? Shake steering head, do top of forks rattle back and forth? On rear sprocket, are holes even or"dished" on side? All signs of wear, going to be medium to very expensive. If the bike won't start when you goto look at it, something is very(!) wrong. Get a mechanical friend to go with you to look at bikes to begin with. Ask what he is looking for, so you can do the same later. Best wishes, dirt down and sky up!
I’m going to be getting a dirt bike sometime in the next month or so, and was wondering what you think would be good for me to get? im 5′ 6″ , 110lbs. i have rode a dirt bike before my friends XR70 and DRZ110,(kinda small) my friend taught me to ride , i did do a little jumping but nothin extreme.

A 110 is kind of small I agree you’ll want something that you can learn with and also grow wih being you’re already 12 years old I recomend a yamaha ttr 125, or a honda crf150. Both these are great beginner bikes and good for jumping or just riding around. My 13 year old nephew has a ttr 125 and loves it, he’s smaller in size and can handle it very well. Yamaha makes great everything, I love all their 4 stroke stuff and i’m mostly a suzuki fan, I would say yamaha is the leader in 4 strokes and makes the best around. The honda crf150 is a great bike also, a little more power than the ttr125 but not any heavier and will grow with you forever, i’m an adult rider and would be comfortable on a crf150 for just riding around. Take a look at these two bikes and ask dealers some questions even if you don’t buy from them it’s good to ask the pro’s they’ll be able to answer anything else that we can’t on here.
