Scott has some cheap ones, decent frames but mediocre components. stay away from rockshox and suntour front suspension. Marzochi is the standard and the best. with the "DJ 2" being a great fork. Not the best, not their low end either. In that price range, your best bang for the buck is either a Giant STP, Cannondale Chase (what i ride, no complaints whatsoever) and a Specialized P-series.
Is it legal to ride a 90cc dirt bike on the side walk? what's the maximum cc? What's the least?
Dirt bikes

What part of side*WALK* do you not understand? Regardless of the law, please try to exercise some common courtesy.

AD: Yeah that is right, even bicycles are illegal to ride on the sidewalk in my home state, so certainly if you lived here you would be cited, towed, and impounded into police storage.

AAD: You have had four days to think about it, yet you still refuse to reveal to us your jurisdiction. So the best answer I can give you, is generally speaking. In general, dirt bikes are restricted to dirt, that is off-road recreation areas. In general, the shoulder of a roadway or designated bike lane is reserved for bicycles and smaller mopeds and scooters. In general, the roadway itself is reserved for the larger, *titled* vehicles. And generally speaking of course, sidewalks are reserved for pedestrians. It appears that you fall under the dirt trails and off-road use category. Your state may or may not also require some type of permit or registration, and therefore you may still be illegal if you do not follow the law.

*/End of Line.

And what was the make, model, and year cant find this info anywhere and theirs allot of confusion about it. Allot of articles say unlike his Dad Robbie used a dirt bike

More than a daredevil, Evel Knievel combined sportsmanship and show business to become one of the most famous performers in America. The perils of his sport—making a motorcycle "fly" over a row of vehicles—clearly were not for the average rider. Many of his jumps were successful; but in some spectacular crashes, Knievel fractured 35 to 40 bones. His visually stunning, suspenseful performances were perfectly suited to television and were especially exciting because of the chance that he might crash. Knievel's shows were a celebration of America's love affair with motor vehicles. His pre-jump show featured motorcycle "wheelies" and off-beat vehicles, and he jumped almost exclusively over rows of automobiles, trucks, and buses. By performing at stadiums and coliseums, Knievel perpetuated the tradition of live thrill shows for local audiences. But national and international media coverage of his jumps placed him in a league with some of the world's best-known entertainers. Knievel rode this motorcycle during some of his most spectacular jumps. By carefully coordinating his angle, thrust, and speed, which reached 90 to 100 miles per hour at takeoff, he remained in the air for as far as 165 feet. He chose (and customized) this motorcycle, a 1972 Harley-Davidson XR-750, because it was a light, dependable racing machine. Made of steel, aluminum, and fiberglass, it weighs approximately 300 pounds.

His first motorcycle was a BSA-125 Bantam(His Dad gave to him)
He use to race Norton Scramblers(AMA Circuit)
He use to use Triumph T-120 Bonneville and 650 Bonneville(Early Jumps)

I would like a place with good trails and please no Motocross tracks. Somewhere near East Houston. I'm located in Crosby and I know there are places in Crosby but their ruted out from 4 wheelers.

Go out to the national forest on the north end of lake Conroe. There are over one hundred miles of riding trails.I got lost out there for 6 hours one day, before I found my truck.I took a GPS on the next trip.
Well, I'm 16. I mostly ride trails, but I love to go fast and don't really like 2 stroke. I'm coming off of a yamaha 125. I'm trying to decide between Honda and KTM. I'm a girl, too, so if that matters for anything…. anyways. I was thinking about a 250 size, no bigger. What is the right bike for me and why?
Dirt bikes

If you are only intending upon doing trails have a look at the CRF230 as that is a trail bike and size wise should suit you. If you intend upon doing a bit of track riding and racing or just want a bike that can take a jump as it has the proper suspension then look at any of the known brand 250f's. But your best bet is to go along to some dealerships and sit on a few to try them for size. You don't have to purchase new from them, but just get an idea of what you are after and then look around for second hand. If you have been riding the yz125 you may find the crf230 a bit of a disappointment and want a 250f.
Good luck anyway
I’m a 17 year old girl and i want to learn out to ride a dirt bike, but i’m not sure which kind of bike i need to get.

I also am a girl motocrosser. I started on a crf250r and it was tall so i got another 250- a yz250f. and ended up breaking my leg on it due to my height and not being able to touch the ground. I am 5 foot 4 but have short llegs. So I bought a yz85 and it is perfect for me. But I would say if you have the money to get a crf150r expert because they are a little taller for taller riders and a four stroke is a lot easier to ride than a 2 stroke, especially for a beginner. I would say got to a motocross shop and ask to sit on the bikes, even if you are getting a used bike sit on all of the bikes close to 85′s and 150′s in height. and make sure you can touch the ground- cause with boots it makes it a tad harder to tip toe to the ground.
I have a 125cc pit bike. its basicly a dirt bike but with smaller tires. Its a four stroke but just has a kick starter. My method for compression start is as follows…
Turn run switch to run.
pull in clutch
get rolling down hill
release clutch
apply gas

Will my bike weely? what gear is best.

Thanx

How on earth do you do a wheelie going down hill.?
Hi i have been riding a honda pee wee 50 for abut 4 years and am looking to buy a better bike i was thinking of getting a honda 2007 cr125r plz help plus i have never used a bike with gears (but my dad can teach me)
Dirt bikes

That would not be my recommendation. Learning to ride your first bike with gears on a 125 MX bike is going to be interesting to say the least. Probably the hardest bike to learn on. You would do much better on a CRF150R expert or CRF250R. Don't get me wrong, you can ride it, but it will be very difficult.
I'm just getting back into riding and looking to do some on the weekends. What would be the best bike for me. Not looking to race or anything like that.

Depends where you are riding and how big you are. I had a KX125, and it was great. I rode on mountain bike trails and powerlines. I had no problems handling it, so I thought a 250 would be no problem either. I sold it, and bought a KDX220. It was a little bigger and heaver, but had more power and was more of a trail bike as opposed to a motocross, so I figured there would be no problem handling it. But it was just too heavy for me. I could handle it going fast on straightaways, but going slow on narrow trails around trees was a problem. I'm 6' tall, but I only weigh about 150. If you're getting back into it and not riding all the time, I would recommend a 125 or 250F.
I do not know any thing about dirt bikes i ride my friends yamaha 80cc and his 125cc(i think) they are both fun i am not great with the shifting on the big one but with time i could get it down (i can drive a stick car). I am a 14 year old boy 150lbs and growing. i would like a dirt bike i would have to buy it my self i get $30 a week and $300 every quarter at for my grades(if i get all A's)$300-$500 for christmas and $200 for b-day($3260-2000 total). i would like to pay it off in 3-5 years(job next year). what would be the best brand or model for me i would like somthing fast with good handling and accelaration. i want to pay 5k to 6k (if i must 7k top).

If you are serious about dirt bike racing etc……..ask the riders at a race meeting about their experience and go from there….If you just want a dirt bike for riding around local fields etc then take advice from the bike shop as you would not need anything special.
