The stock system is usually as quite as it gets. However there are other things you can try. Buy an after market muffler like Supertrapp that allows you to tune the the output noise.

http://www.supertrapp.com/product_sections/universal/index.asp

Also you can try wrapping the header and pipe to deaden the noise coming through the side of the pipe. Many factory street bike pipes are double walled to reduce noise.

Like taking something off. (no cutting) but like taking it out of pipe or engine for seed and loudness? its a stock 4 stroke. thanks!!!

Not much if you just want to CUT OFF something. That is not good for the bike. Try investing in an aftermarket exhaust system. This will help with power… Just because a bike is loud doesnt mean it is fast. plus if speed is what you want, try buying another bike. You got a good trail bike, but not a good race bike…..
I have a Marshin 150 Stock Carb and Exhaust any tips

If you have a stock carb and exhaust why are you jetting it? Did you change the air filter? Was it too lean to begin with? Are you sure that the jet kit will work? I have never heard of a universal, you usually have to get the one specific to your carb b/c in many cases the jets and needles are completely different lengths and shapes.
The rear wheel locked while riding, and then the engine shut off. There is compression when I kick start it and it sounds like it wants to start but it does not go all the way. What could this be from?
Dirt bikes

When the rear wheel locked up, the piston may have seized to the cylinder.
When the engine cooled down, it may have un-froze itself.
With a scored piston and cylinder, there wouldn't be enough compression to start the engine.
2 stroke engines can give false compression readings.
It may feel like it has compression, but just that tiny amount of compression that blows past the rings, could be enough to prevent it from running.
Remove the exhaust pipe and look in the exhaust port with a flash light and mirror.
If you see any scoring on the piston and cylinder wall, or discoloration below the rings, the top end will need to be repaired.
If all is good -
Check for spark
Clean the carb
I'm trying to fix a little yamaha 50 dirt bike for my nephew. heres the problem.. i set it to start and kick it over a few times and it starts up. i have to keep the throttle maxed out to keep it running but even then it idles up and down strangely like it revs up then dies and just before it stops completely it will catch again and rev up and repeat. this will go on for about 2 minutes then it will die and be next to impossible to start for an hour or so. any ideas?

You might try an oil change the bottom end might be loaded up with fuel causing the plug to foul or the exhaust could be loaded up with old oil and fuel it could be a dirty carb or a fouled spark plug if the carb is clean and you have a new plug in it it could be time for a top end rebuild the way to check tkat would to be pull the head than the jug than pull a ring off the piston slip it into the jug and see how big or small the gap is or it could be main bearings and seals since a two stroke works off of the suction in the bottom end you can check this by pulling off the left sidecover and pulling your magneto behind there you will see a seal spray soapy water on the seal and kick it over and if it sucks the soluton up that might be the problem. Hope that helps you.
I just bought a 150cc China made dirt bike.i dont know if its a two stroke or a four stroke.it has an oil dipstick and the exhaust is the same size from the beginning til before the main muffler.Im thinking its four stroke but im not sure. And if its a four stroke what kind of oil should i use?

Its a four stroke and use 10w 40
Have good low and mid range power but sputters at hi rpm, recently switched to wiseco piston and hasent been right since.300exc 98?

Your jetting could be off or there may be a problem with the exhaust (look here first since it is easier to pull the pipe that the carb…)
Dirt bikes

If it changes the amount of exhaust flow, it DOES affect the speed, but more importantly it changes the fuel mixture you need to run, either richer or leaner. If the change is extreme, it can even require modifications with your carb. and intake set up too.
It is a suzuki rm125 it is a two stroke?

The muffler and expansion chamber are held on with springs. They've got lots of tension, and can be very difficult to remove without a tool made specifically to pull these springs.

Sometimes you can do it with a pair of needle nose pliers and lots of muscle.

Remove the muffler first, then the expansion chamber.

You will need new springs and some hi-temp silicone (use at both ends of the expansion chamber – into the cylinder and onto the muffler) before you re-install the system.

I've tried to find a new muffler to no avail and it would probably be pretty loud if I do. Can I cut the old muffler off and do anything to it that would quiet it down? My kids are driving the neighbors crazy.

Try the link below. They have a replacement muffler for this bike. Price is $116. You can drill down threw the menus until you find the parts listings for your bike.

Or, to find the part fast. Open the link below, click on "Original Honda" on the left-hand side of the page. On the page this link opens, find "Quick Search" Use the drop down box to enter the brand Honda. In the search for box, enter 0384644 This will bring you directly to a page where you can select and order your muffler.

Be careful with the gasket that connects the exhaust pipe to the cylinder head as these are no longer available. If you damage the gasket you will need to improvise and find another gasket that fits.
