I am 13 and trying to convince my parents to get me a dirt bike. Could you please give me some advice on how to convince them. I would be willing to pay for part of it. I am thinking of a yz125 or cr125. I am too big for anything smaller. (At 5' 11'', Im a bit to big for a kx100 or an 85)

Start showing an interest in local riding tracks or motocross clubs and ask you parents to take you along so you can watch. If you keep the interest up and have the money for the bike yourself then your parents may be more inclined to let you have one yourself. See if any of your friends race and if they do try to go along as act as pit crew as this will help you get a feel for bikes and what may be a good bike for you and will also let your parents know how keen you are.
You are a bit big for a 85cc or kx100 and the same would be the ttr125 so you may have to get yourself a yz or cr or even kx125 but if you do just be careful as they do have a bit of power for a beginner. Sounds like you are going to be a very tall person when that tall at 13.

Well if your a yamaha man i would suggest u upgrade to a yz125 or 250
Honda CR125, Suzuki RM125, Yamaha YZ125, or Kawasaki KX125?

I think the reliability would be very close, but the Yamaha has been the leading 125 for the last few years. They make an incredible 125 machine. Yamahas and KTMs are by far the most popular 125s at all the tracks I frequent.

Well since most moto x tracks don't have a web site…i'd visit some of your local bike shops. clubs and enthusiasts advertise with flyers and such at these places. most bike shops have people working there that also enjoy riding so there is a good chance that the employees can steer you in the right direction. that's how i found some of the best places to ride back in my riding days.

I am in search of a dirt bike, firt time, i am 138 pounds and 5'10. I ride fast 4-wheelers with my uncle and want to get a dirt bike to ride around the farm, want to hall ***, and at tracks get some are air. but before i buy one i would like to know about them like….
what is the difference in 2 stroke and 4 stroke?
what brand?
what does insurance run at?
It there a place or web site to teach me the bike parts?
and anything else helpfull

Here is the quick rundown fellow rider. 2 strocks have exsplosive power and don't hook power to the grown as well as 4 strokes, a lot of wheel spin. If you want to go balls out most of the time I suggest a 2 stroke. Get a 4 stroke if you want to do some putting in woods or trails. Both types can be light bikes for getting air. Now maintance and rebuilding…2 strokes are cheeper in both area, 4 strokes can be bank breakers when it comes time to rebuild the motor. Buy a used bike, they're are plenty of great ones out there. Don't waste your money on insurance, it's a dirt bike!
I know there are 15 dc in texas just dont know texas land at all

Move to South Carolina I have 3 MX tracks with in a 50 mile stretch not to mention the land mass you can just go ride on and make your own track. And I have no idea why I am telling you this…. It's not like your gonna pack up and move just to ride bikes. I guess I just want the 2 points. good luck and ride safe
I'm the second owner
Then how is it when people say, "I have X amount of miles and X amount of hours on the bike", do they just keep track of the time or something?

There are simple hour meters that can be installed on dirt bikes by merely wrapping a wire around the spark plug wire that tracks the firing of the spark. I install these types of meters on all my bikes before they leave the shop (when purchased new) or installed upon picking up (when I buy used).
these usually record to the tenth hour and are relatively inexpensive.
