The reason behind it is that it is a 2 stroke and therefore has the power of about double that klx and twice the kick. The KLX is a non performance (non racing) trails bike designed more toward beginners.
I would highly suggest you stop off at a dealer to test drive both and compare them, you will see what I mean.
I had both a yz125 and a similar one (CRF150F) in the same situation. Dont make the same mistke I did.

I use a 24 oz. bottle up to about 90 min efforts in the winter, 40f. Summer one bottle per hour, or about 24oz/hour.
I also like Platypus bladders and hose and use my own luggage; shoulder or hip pack. I have a 70oz and 100oz.

i would say a kawasaki 80, its pretty good, but its a 3 strokes and has a lot of power, but honda has some great bikes, i stopped by there today and the 08 CRF150R was lookin good, its a 4 soo maybe u would like that? and the 08 CRF250R is pretty good too, its also has dual exhaust. but yea these bikes are made to go on hard trails, and its a honda!! sooo it will be very long lasting they make a great bike! hope u find one! good luck! and if u need more help u can ask me.

In general, dirt bikes are restricted to dirt, that is off-road recreation areas. In general, the shoulder of a roadway or designated bike lane is reserved for bicycles and smaller mopeds and scooters. In general, the roadway itself is reserved for the larger, *titled* vehicles. And generally speaking of course, sidewalks are reserved for pedestrians. It appears that you fall under the dirt trails and off-road use category. Your state may or may not also require some type of permit or registration, and therefore you may still be illegal if you do not follow the law.
