On a CRF250R chain, can I just use wd-40 to lube it? I am just a light rider and do not race. It would be much cheaper than buying some professional grade chain lube.
WD-40 is an excellent degreaser too…Not really a good idea for your drive chain. It is intented as a light lubrication, rust removal and to free frozen parts. Not for protecting high pressure and power/wear points. If you don't really ride that much… one small can of some chain lubricant or as i prefer chain wax (in a spray can) will last you a long time and preserve the integrity of your chain and sprockets.
